A plumbing problem in Leichhardt
Bob lived in a fairly old family home. He loved it because it was large and spacious and had enough room to house all his uncles, aunts and cousins when they came for the holidays. No, he wouldn’t move even if the house fell on him!
In the last month though, Bob’s resolution was being sorely tested. First, there had been a major electric repair. Now, it was a plumbing problem. For some reason, the floor tiles around the toilet became hot after they turned on the heater. It had been going on for some time but Bob had ignored the problem at first.
Sadly, ignoring it did not make the problem go away. Instead, they spotted another hot place two weeks later. The tiles in the kitchen area just below the kitchen sink were hot. His wife had spotted it almost by accident when she dropped something.

Since they drew water from the well, extra water was being pumped in and then the water was being run through the hot water heater too. It did not make sense to ignore the problem any longer.

“Either case, it’s going to be a mess. They will be cutting open the floors, replacing tiles, tubes and pipes. But, with a re-plumbing, we’re set for a while. If we fix these two leaks, we could very well have another leak at some other corner of the house in a month or two”, he explained to his wife.
