Everyone hates a blocked drainage and struggles to find a solution, but may end up being frustrated. So, here are 4 easy home remedies for you.

1. Baking Soda, Table Salt and White Vinegar Combo

What this combo does is that it creates carbon dioxide air bubbles that scrub the inside of the pipe and the expanding air is supposed to push the blockages down the pipe. This works well if the blockage is mostly grease.

    a. Make sure there is no water in the sink.

    b. Pour one cup of baking soda followed by one cup of table salt and then pour a cup of white vinegar.

    c. Then wait for a few minutes and the blockage should be cleared.

2. Alka-Seltzer and Vinegar Combo

This type of combo remedy for blocked drains is a low cost solution, but won’t work for serious clogs. If you just have a minor clogged drain then this is the perfect remedy for your plumbing problems. This will also deodorize your drainage.

    a. Make sure there is no water in the sink.

    b. Drop 2 to 4 Alka-Seltzer (depends on the degree of minor blockage).

    c. Then a cup of vinegar.

    d. Allow for the chemical reaction to happen and it should have results in about 2 to 3 minutes.

    e. If there is small debris, follow it up with a running hot water at full force.

3. Borax

This is one item remedy that can be found in the laundry section of your local grocery store. Normally, this not the way to go but if it is the only option left in your arsenal, then this also work wonders. For stubborn clogs, you may repeat the process once or twice.

    a. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil.

    b. Then, pour a cup of Borax into the drain.

    c. Followed by the boiling water.

    d. Allow the water and Borax to sit for at least an hour.

    e. Then clean and finish with cold water.

    f. Wait for a couple of minutes before using the drain again.

4. Plumber’s Secret: Boiling Water

The secret is out. This is a notable way of dealing with minor blocked drains and requires no harsh chemicals or complicated hooks and what not. Just bring a pot of water to a boil and pour directly into the drain.
